TRANSATLANTIS: WHERE MUSIC EMBRACES TWO CONTINENTS

Presented by Sylvain Acher and fellow musicians

The music of jazz guitarist Sylvain’s group is both fresh and attractive, yet also familiar.  This is because the compositions, all original, draw from many diverse styles.  This kind of “world music” is all tied together by lyrically crafted melodies, choice harmonies, and Sylvain’s French vocals – vocals that can be wistful (N’fais pas d’betises) to positively gritty (New Orleans).

Did you know that in the 1920s, she made fudge at night to earn extra money for her family and then sold it door to door? Today, many of the company’s products are still handmade and feature Esther’s original recipes. A 13-minute video will be shown.
